John Edmiston is a highly innovative Christian bible-teacher and digital strategist. Born in Australia, John Edmiston has lived in Nauru, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines; has taught in 17 nations and now lives in Rhoadesville, Virginia. John became a Christian in May 1978 as a result of a direct encounter with God. He went to Bible college in mid-1980, and first pastored a church in 1984. His teaching emphasis over the years has been in Biblical Exposition, Spiritual Formation and Theology. John wrote Downloading Grace from Heaven in order to help Christians understand how the grace of God can make a practical impact on their lives.
John Has:
- Written the philosophy of education for the Evangelical Alliance in Papua New Guinea in 1986
- Helped start the Urban Ministry Training Center in Port Moresby, in 1987
- Been Regional Chairman (North Queensland) of Scripture Union and AFES in the mid 1990’s
- Started the first Prayer website on the Internet 1993-1994, and the first major bible teaching website on the Internet, Eternity Online Magazine (1994-1998)
- Written Biblical EQ, a book giving a biblical basis for Emotional Intelligence.
- Written The Spiritual Continuum, which is a unique, culture-free method of discipleship
- Written Downloading Grace from Heaven, which explains how to receive God’s grace.
- Developed a method for setting up Evangelistic Internet Cafes for missionary outreach.
- Helped start the Mobile Ministry Forum – dedicated to ministry using mobile devices.
- Developed, designed and prototyped the Pastorbox, a wireless hotspot for distributing Christian training and discipleship materials in very remote parts of the world.
- Developed many Christian websites and online training initiatives.
